85-Year-Old Woman Accuses 88-Year-Old Husband of Abuse, DM Intervenes
•An 85-year-old woman, Rajrani, from Kanpur, accused her 88-year-old husband, Shivram, of physical abuse and neglect at a public hearing.
•Rajrani alleged that despite his 40,000 rupee pension from the Ministry of Defence, Shivram neglects her medical needs and beats her.
•She claimed her husband's behavior changed recently, possibly influenced by a local medical store owner.
•DM Jitendra Pratap Singh directed the District Probation Officer (DPO) to investigate the matter.
•The DPO found Shivram's irritability stemmed from old age and health issues; both parties agreed to live together, and Rajrani received a checkbook and passbook.
