Allahabad HC Orders UP Govt to Pay ₹50,000 Compensation for Wrongful Detention

Allahabad High Court ordered Uttar Pradesh government to pay ₹50,000 compensation to an accused due to police providing incorrect criminal history.

Accused Furkan was detained for 15 extra days because police wrongly claimed he had 12 cases instead of five.
•
Justice Arun Kumar Singh noted the investigating officer's negligence led to the citizen's extended jail time.
•
ADG Naveen Arora admitted the investigating officer's mistake and highlighted the CCTNS system for criminal records.
•
Court directed the Director of Prosecution to deploy adequate staff for proper utilization of the ICJS system to prevent delays.
