Ayushman Yojana Fraud: Mastermind, 6 Others Arrested by UP STF

• UP STF uncovered a large-scale fraud in Ayushman Bharat-PM Jan Arogya Yojana in Uttar Pradesh.
• Seven individuals, including mastermind Chandrabhan Verma, were arrested in Lucknow for their involvement.
• Ineligible persons were issued Ayushman cards by bypassing OTPs and adding them to eligible family IDs.
• Fake cards were approved through collusion with employees in Implementation Support Agency (ISA) and State Health Agency (SHA).
• The scheme defrauded the government of millions/billions through free treatment availed using these fraudulent cards.
