DDU Rail Division to Transform with Record Rail Budget, 15 Stations Redeveloped

• Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a historic ₹2.78 lakh crore budget for Indian Railways for 2026-27, with ₹20,012 crore allocated to Uttar Pradesh.
• Uttar Pradesh has completed 100% rail track electrification and has projects worth ₹92,000 crore under construction.
• Two new bullet train projects, Delhi-Varanasi and Varanasi-Siliguri, have been provisioned, with the latter passing through DDU Junction.
• Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 15 stations in the DDU Division, including Gaya Junction, Chandauli Majhwar, and Sasaram, will be redeveloped.
• The budget will focus on safety, modernization, track renewal, signaling, and passenger amenities, including the anti-collision Kavach system.
