Ghaziabad to be Waterlogging-Free: ₹8.47 Crore Drain Project to Benefit 10 Wards
- •Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is constructing a massive 820-meter-long drain to combat waterlogging, personally monitored by Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik.
- •The drain, costing ₹8.47 crore, is being built behind Mahamaya Stadium and from Kela Bhatta to the Postmortem House.
- •It will provide relief from waterlogging to 10 wards, including Dasna Gate, Purana Shahar Chandrapuri, Lohia Nagar, Patel Nagar, Shibban Pura, Bojha, Maliwara, Kela Bhatta area, Meerut Road Industrial Area, and City Zone.
- •With a width of 5.90 meters and height of 4.55 meters, the drain will channel rainwater from Kela Bhatta directly to the Hindon River.
- •Officials have been given a strict deadline to complete the construction by April to ensure it is fully operational before the monsoon season.
