Kanpur Police Nabs Dreaded Robber Dhanraj in Encounter; Hardoi Foils Cattle Smuggling

• Kanpur police arrested Dhanraj, a reward-carrying criminal with a Rs 25,000 bounty, after an encounter, injuring him.
• Dhanraj, from Shamli, was wanted for chain-snatching and has over a dozen robbery cases across 12+ UP districts including Kanpur, Lucknow, and Azamgarh.
• In a separate incident, Hardoi police arrested four cattle smugglers, injuring two (Budhpal and Devendra alias Haggu) in retaliatory firing.
• The Hardoi operation led to the recovery of a stolen buffalo, Rs 1.30 lakh cash, a stolen pickup truck, and four country-made pistols.
• The arrested smugglers confessed to reconnoitering animals during the day and stealing them at night, with multiple cases against them in Shahjahanpur, Badaun, and Hardoi.
