BKTC Bars Non-Hindus from Badrinath, Kedarnath & 45 Temples; Cites Sanctity

•Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC) bans non-Hindus from Badrinath, Kedarnath, and 45 other temples under its jurisdiction.
•BKTC President Hemant Dwivedi stated the decision aims to ensure devotees visit for pilgrimage and maintain the sanctity of the Dhams.
•The prohibition applies specifically to the temple premises and sanctum sanctorum, not affecting non-Hindu employment outside these areas.
•This major proposal was approved during a budget meeting where Rs 121.7 crore was passed for the financial year 2026-27.
•The Char Dham Yatra is set to commence on April 19, with the gates of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams opening.
