•25 individuals simultaneously convicted and sentenced in Hooghly for a 2017 incident.
•A mother, daughter, and driver were attacked in Balagarh on suspicion of child abduction.
•Attackers attempted to burn the victims alive by setting their car on fire.
•Police were also attacked, with a civic volunteer shot by an arrow and 11 officers injured.
•Two accused received life imprisonment, while 23 others were sentenced to seven years in jail.
