• The arrests occurred on Tuesday night in Moylakhola, Basirhat, North 24 Parganas, just before the assembly elections.
• The duo had been sought for a long time for involvement in multiple criminal activities.
• Separately, Bishu Sheikh, an illegal gas trader, was arrested in Bongaon, North 24 Parganas.
• 17 empty, 1 full gas cylinder, and gas filling equipment were recovered from Bishu Sheikh's house.
