College Students Lead Sundarbans Wetland Protection: Green Club's Big Initiative

• College students from Raidighi College's Botany and Geography departments, along with the Green Club, are actively working to protect Sundarbans wetlands and ecosystems.
• The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands and prevent their disappearance, addressing issues like river and canal filling.
• Supported by the East Kolkata Wetlands Management Authority, the project involves preserving animals, microorganisms, and plants in the region.
• The launch was attended by Kalyan Rudra (West Bengal Pollution Control Board) and Sangeeta Mitra (WWF), among others.
• Students are currently creating wall paintings and will continue year-round, hoping to inspire broader community participation.
