East Medinipur: Excise Foils Illicit Liquor Smuggling, 6 Arrested Including 5 Women

• East Medinipur Excise Department achieved a major success ahead of elections, foiling an inter-district illicit liquor smuggling operation.
• Six individuals, including five women and one man, were arrested in the Panskura police station area for selling and smuggling illicit liquor.
• A total of 120 liters of illicit liquor was recovered from the arrested individuals, who were smuggling it by bus from West Medinipur.
• The arrested individuals were identified as Arun Samanta, Sandhya Santra, Archana Malik, Putul Malik, Brinda Malik, and Moyna Dhara.
• The accused were produced before the Tamluk CGM Court and ordered to 14 days of judicial custody.
