Jalpaiguri Road Station Gets Royal Palace Makeover Under Amrit Bharat Scheme

• Jalpaiguri Road Station is undergoing a major transformation, modeled after the historic Baikunthapur Rajbari, under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
• The revamped station is expected to be operational for passengers by the first week of March, possibly before the assembly elections.
• New facilities include a grand 'Singha Duar' style gate, separate parking, modern seating, green parks, canteens, AC waiting rooms, and dedicated breastfeeding rooms.
• The station will also feature a stop for the Kamakhya-Howrah Vande Bharat Express and a museum showcasing Jalpaiguri's history, including visits by Netaji and Mahatma Gandhi.
• An old flyover has been replaced with a new modern one to ensure smoother traffic flow to and from the station.
