Purba Medinipur: 4 Women Dead in Two Horrific Road Accidents, Families Devastated

• Susmita Jana (31) died after being hit and dragged by a lorry for 15 feet in Fatehpur, Ramnagar, Purba Medinipur; her sister-in-law Putul Jana was seriously injured.
• Susmita, a housewife, leaves behind a day laborer husband and two minor children, plunging her family into destitution.
• In a separate incident in Digha, sisters Pratima Jana (32) and Pranati Acharya (35) died after a speeding Scorpio hit their scooter.
• Pratima died on the spot, while Pranati succumbed to her injuries while being transferred from Digha State General Hospital to Tamluk.
• The sisters ran a tea shop in Digha to support their family, including Pratima's son and Pranati, who was abandoned by her husband.
