Tarapith Temple President Duped: Lakhs Siphoned in Online Scooter Scam

• Taramoy Mukherjee, Tarapith Temple Committee President and businessman, fell victim to an online fraud.
• Fraudsters impersonated 'Swasthya Bhawan Nabanna' officials, claiming to need 28 scooters for Rampurhat Health District.
• Mukherjee was instructed to deposit money in installments, totaling 146,000 rupees, for scooter orders.
• The scam involved 10 separate transactions, each for 19,500 rupees, under various pretexts.
• Mukherjee realized the fraud when the caller made excuses to avoid a meeting, leading him to file a complaint with cyber crime and police.
