TMC Councilor Arrested for Elderly Man's Death, Party Suspends Accused

TMC councilor Rabindranath Bhattacharya of North Barrackpore Municipality arrested for allegedly kicking an elderly man to death.
•
The incident occurred during a dispute over illegal construction in Monirampur, Ward No. 23.
•
Victim, 81-year-old Tulsi Adhikari, intervened when his son was allegedly assaulted by the councilor.
•
Tulsi Adhikari lost consciousness after being kicked and was declared dead at Barrackpore Cantonment Hospital.
•
TMC suspended Rabindranath Bhattacharya for 6 years, stating the party does not tolerate such incidents.
