• Mukesh Sau had an extramarital affair with Meghnath Shil's wife, a resident of Panihati Paschim Palli area.
• The critically injured Mukesh Sau was rescued by police and admitted to Balram Hospital; his condition is serious.
• Khardah Police arrested Meghnath Shil, and his wife later surrendered at the police station.
