Leopard Attacks Watchman in Jalpaiguri Tea Garden, Critically Injured

• Bande Orao (60), a watchman at Baman Danga tea garden in Nagrakata, Jalpaiguri, was severely injured in a leopard attack.
• The leopard ambushed him from a bush while he was on duty in the 34-acre Bamni section on Sunday afternoon.
• He sustained claw injuries to his head, face, back, hands, and a bite on his leg, but fought back and screamed for help.
• Other workers rushed to his aid, scaring the leopard away; he was admitted to Sulka Para Rural Hospital.
• The incident has caused panic among locals, who report increasing wildlife attacks; Forest Department has increased patrolling.
