Credit Card Rules: 5 Major Changes Coming April 1, 2026; Know the Details
- •Banks must report credit card bills of ₹10 lakh or more (non-cash) to the Income Tax Department.
- •Credit card statements (not older than 3 months) can now be used as address proof for PAN applications.
- •Credit cards are now an authorized electronic payment mode for online tax payments.
- •Company-provided credit cards' membership fees/annual charges paid by the company will be taxable as perquisites.
- •PAN is now mandatory for all new credit card applications to link transactions with the Income Tax Department.
