PhonePe Introduces Biometric UPI Payments Up to ₹5,000: How to Use

• PhonePe now allows biometric authentication (fingerprint/facial recognition) for UPI payments up to ₹5,000.
• This feature replaces the need for a UPI PIN for eligible transactions, simplifying the payment process.
• Payments exceeding ₹5,000 will still require a UPI PIN due to regulatory requirements.
• The biometric option acts as a device-level two-factor authentication and includes a PIN fallback.
• Currently available for Android users, supporting peer-to-peer, QR code, online payments, and bank balance checks; iOS support is coming soon.
