Rare Flying Squirrel Spotted in Valmiki Tiger Reserve, Bihar
- •A rare flying squirrel was recently spotted and rescued from a residential area in the Valmiki Nagar range of Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in Bihar.
- •The squirrel, a nocturnal rodent larger than common squirrels, was found near the IB Office in the E-Type Colony of the Water Resources Department.
- •Forest Guard Sumit Kumar first spotted the creature, leading to its safe rescue by the Forest Department team.
- •Flying squirrels glide up to 60 meters using a skin membrane between their front and hind legs.
