NPS Rules Revamped: 5-Year Lock-in Ends, Withdraw 80%!
- •PFRDA introduces major changes to NPS rules, making it more flexible for private sector and general citizens.
- •The mandatory 5-year lock-in period for private sector subscribers has been removed.
- •Lump sum withdrawal increased: 80% for corpus > ₹12 lakh; 100% for corpus ≤ ₹8 lakh.
- •For corpus > ₹8 lakh but ≤ ₹12 lakh, max ₹6 lakh lump sum, rest into annuity for 6 years.
- •These changes do not apply to government employees, who retain the 5-year lock-in and different withdrawal limits.
