IPS to IAS: Vikas Kundu secures 27th rank in UPSC without coaching

Vikas Kundu, an alumnus of Delhi's Kirori Mal College, secured the 27th rank in the UPSC examination.
•
He previously achieved the 288th rank last year, becoming an IPS officer and is currently training in Hyderabad.
•
Kundu prepared for the IAS exam through self-study while undergoing IPS training, fulfilling his dream of becoming an IAS.
•
Hailing from Pillukhera, Jind, his father Karan Singh is a farmer and mother Nirmala is a homemaker.
•
The 27-year-old cracked UPSC on his fifth attempt for IAS, relying solely on self-study since childhood.
