IMD: Cold Wave in 15 States, Fog in 12; Bengal Cold Spell Dec 13-18
- •IMD forecasts cold wave conditions across 15 states from December 13-18, including Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, UP, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Northeast states.
- •Dense fog alerts are issued for 12 states from December 13-18, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal, Uttarakhand, and several Northeastern states.
- •Andaman & Nicobar Islands are expected to experience thunderstorms, rough seas, and strong winds (50-55 km/h); similar rough sea conditions for Gulf of Mannar and Comorin areas.
- •West Bengal will continue to experience a cold spell with minimum temperatures below normal, ranging from 11°C in South Bengal to 14-16°C in coastal districts.
- •A new Western Disturbance is active, but Rajasthan is not expected to experience a cold wave, though some areas may see partial cloudiness and a slight temperature drop.
