Vande Bharat Sleeper to Offer Local Cuisine on Howrah-Kamakhya Route

• India's first Vande Bharat Sleeper train will launch between Howrah and Kamakhya (Guwahati).
• The train, built with indigenous technology, will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on January 17, 2026, from Malda.
• It will cover 970 km in 14 hours, saving 2.5-3 hours compared to other express trains.
• Passengers will enjoy local Assamese cuisine from Kamakhya and Bengali cuisine from Howrah.
• The 16-coach train includes 11 AC Three-tier, 4 AC Two-tier, and 1 AC First Class coach, accommodating 823 passengers.
