Maharashtra Braces for First-Ever Heatwave: Yellow Alert Issued for Districts

Maharashtra to experience its first significant heatwave, with temperatures rising 2-3°C over the next 4 days starting March 4.
•
Yellow alert issued for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad districts in the Konkan region due to expected high temperatures.
•
Temperatures across regions: Konkan (33-37°C), Western Maharashtra (34-38°C), North Maharashtra (35-39°C), Marathwada (36-40°C), Vidarbha (37-41°C).
•
Vidarbha region, including Nagpur, Amravati, and Akola, is expected to face the most severe impact of the heatwave.
•
Citizens advised to drink plenty of water, avoid direct sun exposure between 12 PM and 4 PM, and take precautions against heatstroke.
