Sikar Gets Big Gift: Indira Gandhi Canal Water to Reach 1113 Villages Soon

• Sikar district to receive drinking water from the Indira Gandhi Canal, alleviating a long-standing crisis.
• PHED has nearly completed land acquisition for 29 water station locations across Sikar.
• Construction work for the project is expected to begin by November-December this year.
• The project, approved in 2023 with 7583 crore rupees sanctioned, will benefit 1133 villages in Sikar-Jhunjhunu.
• Main headwork in Dadia and high-level water stations in Palsana, Khandela, Piprali, and Neemkathana will store and supply canal water.
