Ration Card Rules Change: Rice Down, Flour Up from Jan 1!
- •Central government implements major changes to National Food Security Scheme from January 1, citing evolving dietary habits.
- •Quantity of rice allocated will decrease, while an equivalent amount of flour will be provided instead.
- •Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cardholders will receive 15 kg rice and 20 packets of flour, down from 21 kg rice and 14 packets.
- •PHH cardholders get 2 kg rice, 3 packets flour (central) plus 6 kg rice (state).
- •State's additional rice for Jangalmahal and RKSY 1 & 2 schemes remain unchanged.
