Ration Card Rules Change: Rice Down, Flour Up from Jan 1!

• Central government implements major changes to National Food Security Scheme from January 1, citing evolving dietary habits.
• Quantity of rice allocated will decrease, while an equivalent amount of flour will be provided instead.
• Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cardholders will receive 15 kg rice and 20 packets of flour, down from 21 kg rice and 14 packets.
• PHH cardholders get 2 kg rice, 3 packets flour (central) plus 6 kg rice (state).
• State's additional rice for Jangalmahal and RKSY 1 & 2 schemes remain unchanged.
