Man Loses ₹2.49 Lakh in Parcel Delivery OTP Scam in Hyderabad

  • A 59-year-old Banjara Hills resident in Hyderabad lost ₹2.49 lakh to a cyber fraud while expecting a DHL parcel.
  • He received a message about failed delivery, asking for ₹25 for redelivery via a suspicious link.
  • Believing it was genuine, he clicked the link, entered credit card details, and then an OTP for the supposed ₹25 payment.
  • Immediately after entering the OTP, ₹2.49 lakh was debited from his credit card, leading him to realize the fraud.
  • Police warn against clicking unknown links, sharing sensitive details, and advise contacting banks/cyber crime helpline for such OTP-based delivery scams.

Why It Matters: Be vigilant against delivery scam messages; never click unknown links or share OTPs for small fees.
