Eastern Railway boosts Ranaghat-Gede line with new local trains for commuters

• Eastern Railway's Sealdah Division introduces new and extended EMU special train services on Sealdah-Ranaghat-Gede and Gede-Ranaghat-Naihati-Majerhat sections.
• These services, initiated by MP Shri Jagannath Sarkar, will run on an experimental basis from Monday, March 16, 2026.
• The 31227 Up Sealdah-Barrackpore Local is extended to Gede, now running as 31931 Up Sealdah-Gede Special Local.
• The 31431 Up Sealdah-Naihati Local is extended to Gede (31933 Up) with a revised departure time from Sealdah.
• The 31750 Down Gede-Ranaghat Local and 30154 Down Naihati-Majerhat Local are merged into 30144 Down Gede-Majerhat Special.
