Sundarbans Installs Solar-Powered Device to Curb Tiger Incursions

Advanced solar-powered Animal Intrusion Detection and Repellent System (ANIDERS) installed in Sundarbans to tackle human-tiger conflict.

Joint initiative by Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) and South 24 Parganas Forest Division in Raydighi Range.
•
ANIDERS is a non-lethal, technology-driven system providing early warnings to prevent tiger intrusions into villages.
•
Each solar-powered device covers 25-30 meters at a 180° angle, with four units already installed.
•
Pilot project to evaluate technological capability, detection accuracy, and effectiveness, following successful implementation in Uttar Pradesh.
