West Bengal Election 2026: Central Forces Begin Route Marches in Sensitive Bhutan Border Areas
•Central forces initiated route marches in Jaigaon, Alipurduar district, West Bengal, ahead of the 2026 elections.
•Personnel inspected the first and second Bhutan gates in the India-Bhutan border town of Jaigaon, accompanied by Jaigaon Police Station's OC Nayan Das.
•Jaigaon, a diverse and commercially prosperous town, is known as the gateway to Phuentsholing, Bhutan, and is a significant tourist destination.
•The administration is paying special attention to sensitive areas within Jaigaon, which houses Jaigaon Police Station and SSB 53 Battalion.
•Route marches were conducted from Jaigaon Police Station to the Supermarket area and also in the Bhulan Turning area.
