Weather Alert: Dangerous Turn with Snowfall, Dense Fog, and Heavy Rain Warnings

• A Subtropical Westerly Jet Stream and an upper-air cyclonic circulation are causing significant weather changes across India.
• A new Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region from February 8, 2026.
• Rain and snowfall are predicted for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad on Feb 5-6, and Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand on Feb 6.
• Dense to very dense fog warnings are issued for Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Northeast Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya.
• Minimum temperatures are expected to drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius in Central and East India, and 2-3 degrees in Gujarat and Maharashtra after initial stability.
