Auto Driver Kidnaps Youth, Demands Ransom Over Canceled Booking in Pune

• A 21-year-old student, Sumit Ratan Patait, was kidnapped in Pimpri-Chinchwad after canceling an online auto-rickshaw booking.
• Auto driver Mithun Shelke and two associates, Sahil Waringe and Pawan Puyad, abducted Sumit near D. Y. Patil College.
• They forcibly took him to a secluded spot, severely assaulted him with kicks and punches, and verbally abused him.
• The accused demanded a ransom of three thousand rupees, claiming losses due to the canceled booking.
• Sumit reported the incident to Talegaon MIDC Police Station; a case of kidnapping, assault, and extortion has been registered.
