•She was reportedly fed up with continuous physical and mental harassment by her husband, Tirupati Hulagappa Kurhade.
•Tirupati, originally from Karnataka, became addicted to alcohol a few years into their 8-year marriage.
•He frequently demanded money for alcohol and brutally beat Pooja if she refused, including a severe beating three days prior to her death.
•Warje police arrested Tirupati Kurhade for abetting suicide based on a complaint from Pooja's family.
