Pune-Nagar Road: 54km Pune-Shirur Flyover Approved, Hour Travel Time Saved

• A 54-km grand flyover between Pune and Shirur has been opened to ease travel on the Pune-Ahmednagar road.
• The flyover is expected to save an hour of travel time and resolve traffic congestion from Yerawada to Shikrapur.
• The Rs 6,840 crore project will be implemented on a 'DBFOT' basis, allowing the builder to levy toll for 30 years.
• Maharashtra State Infrastructure Corporation is responsible for the project, aiming to divert heavy traffic and reduce congestion in Kharadi and Wagholi.
• The entire work is to be completed within four years, with discussions held with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for central funding.
