Pune University Offers Credits for Kumbh Mela Volunteers in Nashik 2026

• Savitribai Phule Pune University will award two credits to students volunteering at the Nashik Kumbh Mela in 2026-27.
• Students providing a minimum of 60 hours of service at the Kumbh Mela will be eligible for these credits under the Open Elective Credit initiative.
• The initiative aims to provide students with practical experience in management, planning, and research, while assisting the administration with manpower.
• Volunteers will help with traffic management, health services, CCTV surveillance, crowd control, disaster management, and environmental conservation.
• The decision was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Management Council, and Academic Council of Savitribai Phule Pune University.
