NZ seeks more ODIs with India: Kohli, Rohit's popularity drives financial boost

New Zealand Cricket Board requested BCCI to increase ODI matches from 3 to 5 during India's upcoming tour.

The demand is primarily due to the immense popularity and brand value of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who now mainly play ODI cricket.

Increasing the number of ODI matches would financially benefit broadcasters, organizers, and the New Zealand Cricket Board.

This will be Team India's first tour of New Zealand in four years, since November 2022.

The Test series during this tour will be part of the 2025-27 World Test Championship, crucial for India's final race.
