Konkan's Son Allahudien Paleker to Umpire T20 World Cup Final
•Allahudien Paleker, an umpire with roots in Ratnagiri's Shiv village, Khed tehsil, will be the third umpire in the T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand on March 8.
•Paleker's family migrated to South Africa for work, where he was born in Cape Town, but his ancestral village remains Shiv.
•He officiated at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium during the 2014/15 Ranji Trophy season and entered the ICC Elite Panel in March 2025 after 16 years of hard work.
•Paleker started umpiring in 2006, joined the first-class panel in 2009, and made his T20I, ODI, and Test debuts in 2018, 2019, and 2020 respectively.
•He advises young umpires to be patient and control what they can, emphasizing that reaching the Elite Panel takes time and dedication.
