DoT Nudges Adani-backed Navi Mumbai Airport on Telecom Right of Way Compliance

•Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has asked Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd (NMIAL) to comply with Right of Way (RoW) provisions under the Telecommunications Act, 2023.
•DoT states NMIAL is a "public entity" and must process RoW applications from telecom service providers fairly and transparently.
•Telecom operators complained to DoT about denial of RoW permissions and alleged exorbitant charges for using airport's own infrastructure.
•The dispute was previously raised with TRAI, which suggested administrative remedies over direct regulatory action, citing existing DoT frameworks.
•Industry executives warn this standoff could indicate broader RoW issues at other upcoming infrastructure projects like Noida International Airport.
