TTD launches 'Divine Plantation Project' to grow trees for dwajasthambams

  • Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will grow its own temple trees on 100 acres to source wood for dwajasthambams (holy flag masts).
  • The 'Divine Plantation Project' aims to preserve ancient traditions, making TTD the first temple to cultivate sacred trees for this purpose.
  • A devotee from Tamil Nadu donated ₹1 crore to TTD's Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust, which offers free medical treatment to poor patients.
  • TTD also received two car donations valued at ₹19 lakh from Arjun Kollikonda and Saravanan Karunakaran.

Why It Matters: TTD's unique project ensures sacred temple flag masts are sustainably sourced.
