Spiritual tourism gets "big boost" from infra expansion: Shekhawat

• Infrastructure expansion over the past 11 years has given a "big boost" to spiritual tourism, stated Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
• Four-lane roads in the country have expanded 2.5 times to nearly 48,200 km from over 18,000 km before 2014.
• High-speed corridors have seen an 8.5-time increase in their network during the same period.
• Improved road infrastructure has enhanced access to popular pilgrimage sites like the Char Dham Yatra and Panchkosi Yatra.
• The Northeast region and areas like Bet Dwarka (Sudarshan Setu) have also benefited from increased accessibility to tourist sites.
