China Ousts Minister, Strips Lawmakers Amid Xi Jinping's Military Graft Crackdown
•China dismissed its emergency management minister and revoked a former provincial Communist Party chief's legislative status after corruption investigations.
•The Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress removed Wang Xiangxi as minister of emergency management.
•Liu Shaoyun was stripped of his role as president of the People’s Liberation Army’s military court; 19 delegates were also removed from the NPC.
•Among those removed were former Inner Mongolia party secretary Sun Shaocheng and nine military officials, including former Navy commander Shen Jinlong.
•The move expands Xi Jinping's ongoing anti-graft campaign, which recently targeted top generals like Zhang Youxia and Liu Zhenli.
