Germany Rejects Middle East Troop Boost Amid Allied Deployments

Germany states it has no plans to send additional military support to the Middle East.
•
Decision follows European allies (Italy, Spain, France, Netherlands) deploying naval assets to protect Cyprus after a drone strike.
•
Britain is also sending a destroyer and helicopters with anti-drone capabilities, boosting air defences with France and Greece.

Germany's military focus remains on NATO defence operations in Eastern Europe, despite its UNIFIL mission in Lebanon.
•
Defence Minister Boris Pistorius reiterated that Germany is not a party to the war and the Bundeswehr is not participating.
