Hungary Blocks €90 Billion EU Loan to Ukraine Over Russian Oil Dispute
•Hungary will veto a €90 billion EU loan package for Ukraine unless Russian crude deliveries via the Druzhba pipeline resume, stated Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.
•Oil shipments to Hungary and Slovakia halted on January 27 after a Russian drone strike reportedly damaged the Druzhba pipeline in Ukraine.
•Hungary and Slovakia, exempt from the EU’s Russian oil ban, accuse Ukraine of intentionally delaying supply resumption and have suspended diesel exports to Ukraine.
•Szijjártó accused Ukraine of "blackmailing" Hungary and vowed Budapest would block the interest-free loan approved by the EU in December.
•Slovakia's PM Robert Fico also threatened to stop emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine if Druzhba oil flow isn't restored by Monday.
