India-US Trade Pact: Auto Duty Cuts, Alcohol Tariff Reduction & More

• India offers quota-based duty concessions in the automobile sector and tariff reduction for alcoholic beverages under a new trade pact with the US.
• Tariffs on USD 30.94 billion of India’s exports to the US will be reduced from 50% to 18%, while reciprocal tariffs on USD 10.03 billion will be eliminated.
• Indian agricultural exports worth USD 1.36 billion, including spices, tea, coffee, and fruits, will receive zero additional US duty access.
• Textile and gems & jewelry exports will see tariffs cut to 18%, with silk, diamonds, platinum, and coins receiving nil duty access.
• The agreement also secures zero additional duty access for industrial exports valued at USD 38 billion and establishes a structured digital trade framework.
