Iran Confirms Death of Top Policy Architect Ali Larijani in Israeli Strike

•Iran's National Security Council confirmed the death of Ali Larijani in an Israeli strike, calling it a 'divine call'.
•Larijani, 68, was a veteran Iranian politician, central to Tehran's nuclear policy and strategic diplomacy, and a close aide to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
•He served as chief nuclear negotiator (2005-2007) and multiple terms as speaker of parliament (2008-2020), also involved in a 25-year cooperation agreement with Russia and China.
•Larijani was killed alongside his son, Morteza Larijani, and key aides during a meeting to discuss controlling potential protests.
•Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Larijani as the leader of 'the gang of gangsters' and said the strike aimed to give Iranians a chance to challenge the clerical regime.
