The attack on the Al Taweelah site in Abu Dhabi injured several employees, with damage assessment ongoing.

EGA is the region's largest aluminum producer and a major global supplier, with its Al Taweelah smelter producing 1.6 million tonnes in 2025.

The incident adds to challenges for the region's commodity industry, already impacted by the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
