TTP Launches Fresh Retaliatory Attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11 Killed
•Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) initiated a new wave of retaliatory attacks across Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, targeting multiple cities and police installations.
•At least 11 people, including seven policemen, were killed, and several others injured in coordinated attacks across six cities: Peshawar, Bannu, Budhber, Nowshera, Waziristan, and Kohat.
•The attacks followed Pakistan’s cross-border strikes in Afghanistan on February 26, which Islamabad claimed targeted TTP hideouts, leading to heightened border tensions.
•TTP chief Noor Wali Mehsud announced support for the Afghan Taliban and ordered fighters to launch destructive attacks in Pakistan under the operation name “Defending Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.”
•Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have beefed up security, closed entry/exit points in Bannu and Kohat, and sought assistance from the Frontier Corps (FC) amid surging TTP activities.
