Ukraine Strikes Russia's Kirishi Refinery, Intensifying Baltic Energy Attacks
•Ukraine claims to have hit Russia’s major export-oriented Kirishi oil refinery in the Leningrad region overnight.
•The strike was carried out by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces and armed forces, causing fires in primary crude processing units and two storage tanks.
•The Kirishi facility, owned by Surgutneftegas PJSC, has a design capacity of over 400,000 barrels a day and produces diesel, gasoline, and fuel oil for export.
•This attack follows earlier Ukrainian drone strikes this week on Russian oil ports Primorsk and Ust-Luga on the Baltic Sea, causing fires and halting oil loadings.
•Sustained export disruptions from these attacks could exacerbate global supply worries amidst ongoing conflicts and rising Brent crude prices.
