Dream11 Logs Rs 479 Crore Loss in FY25 Amidst High Ad Spends, Tax Charges
•
Dream11's parent company, Dream Sports, reported a net loss of Rs 479 crore in FY25, a sharp decline from Rs 1,295 crore profit in FY24.
•
Exceptional costs, including a Rs 575 crore one-time tax charge and Rs 771 crore in directors' benefits, contributed significantly to the loss.
•
Operating revenue dropped 15% year-on-year to Rs 6,759 crore, despite platform fees of Rs 10,284 crore, due to promotional credits.
•
Advertising and marketing remained the largest expense, consuming Rs 3,913 crore (58% of total costs) in FY25.
•
The financial dip occurred months before India's real-money gaming ban, prompting Dream11 to diversify into sports entertainment and wealthtech.
